Adams Falls Trail, Linn Run State Park

One of the easiest trails in Linn Run State Park, Adams Falls, takes you on a 1-mile loop through rhododendrons and hemlocks. You almost get a Lord of the Rings feel as you walk through the shaded forest. Discover a beautiful mountain waterfall as well as some stunning boulders. It’s a great place to go to if you are a rock climber and want to do a quick route during your hike!

Meadow Run Trail, Ohiopyle State Park

Meadow Run Trail is a 3-mile trail that takes you through some of Pennsylvania’s most peaceful patches of land in gorgeous Ohiopyle State Park. Walk along the waterfalls and in the shade of the trees as you discover beautiful, untouched nature. Be sure to pack a lunch with you and head over to Cucumber Falls for the most scenic picnic you’ve ever had! This 30-foot waterfall is hidden in the forest and is surrounded by luscious trees. Be careful not to trip if you get closer, as the rocks can be quite slippery.

Baughman Trail, Ohiopyle State Park

The Baughman Trail is meant for more experienced hikers. This 3.4-mile trail is steep and rocky but offers a jaw-dropping view of the Youghiogheny River Gorge. Discover enchanted woodlands during your ascent and get a glimpse of the trail’s main attraction, the Baughman Rock. It is particularly enchanting in the fall, when the colors are so vibrant, and during the golden hours of the day.

Mount Davis Highpoint Trail, Forbes State Forest

Located in Forbes State Forest Park, the Mount Davis Highpoint Trail is a 5.4-mile loop with spectacular views. It’s a great hike for all skill levels and takes you to the summit of 3,213-foot-tall Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania. The lookout tower gives a fantastic 360-degree view of the forest and surroundings.

After your hike, explore the rest of Forbes State Forest. This impressive 300-acre wildlife area displays unique plants and trees that have been around since the ice-age. It’s a delightful place to spend the day!
