3 Reasons That Make Out of the Fire Cafe One of the Best in Town

History of Out of the Fire Cafe

The story of Out of the Fire Cafe dates back to 1974, when owner Jeff Fryer had his first taste of the delicious smoked salmon in Vancouver, Canada. It didn’t take him long to come up with his own smoking process, and it’s this inventive technique that he based the cafe off of! Out of the Fire opened in 2007 and has since brought a variety of yummy flavors to Donegal and beyond.

What’s on the Menu?

Smoked salmon is the specialty of the house, but it’s not all that is served! You can enjoy fresh, hand-cut seafood and steaks as well as a daily menu based on local products. Out of the Fire Cafe is also part of Slow Food USA, a non-profit organization promoting relationships and partnerships between local vendors and producers. “Think globally, act locally” is not only an expression here, but a lifestyle!

Out of the Fire Cafe’s menus change regularly to ensure the freshness and quality of each meal. Popular options include Thai pork belly with deviled eggs, the house-smoked salmon platter, house-made pastrami reuben, roasted wild sea scallops, and mesquite smoked picanha. If you’re visiting for lunch, Jeff’s special sandwich is a must. It’s made with hickory smoked chicken, sauteed portobello mushrooms, and fresh mozzarella on toasted ciabatta bread.

Tip: Out of the Fire Cafe is BYO, so don’t forget to pick up your favorite beverage!

Events and Happenings

The food isn’t the only thing that makes Out of the Fire Cafe such a great place. A series of events are also held regularly, including live music performances. You can eat your favorite entree while listening to talented local musicians. It’s perfect for a laid-back happy-hour with friends and family!
