The Perfect Place to Create Memories

If you are going skiing in the Laurel Highlands in December, set aside some time to enjoy the wonderful holiday celebrations! Overly’s Country Christmas is one of the best events in the area, and it’s only 20 minutes away from Oak Lodge. Hop in your car and head to this charming Christmas village for a magical day.

The Country Christmas tradition started in 1956 at the home of Harry E. Overly, who loved to decorate his property with incredible light displays. Over the years, animations were added and the community got involved. Volunteers started offering their services, and when it opened to the public, Ovely’s had the opportunity to raise money for local charities. The first million dollars was kindly donated to the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh as well as the Westmoreland Regional Hospital in Greensburg. Today, Overly’s Country Christmas is a non-profit organization and takes place at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds in Greensburg.
