Why Should You Visit Schramm’s Farms and Orchards?

On top of being a scenic destination in the Laurel Highlands countryside, Schramm’s Farms and Orchards is a staple in the region. This family-owned farm has been selling fresh fruits and vegetables to the Pittsburgh area since 1864! Though it was relocated to its current location in 1981, Schramm’s Farms has kept the same, traditional farming methods and continues to provide locals with high-quality products.

Discover Their Products

Schramm’s Farms produces a long list of vegetables and fruits, so you’ll be surprised at the variety you find there during your visit. Their produce includes:

  • Watermelons
  • Apples (more than 10 varieties!)
  • Hot and sweet peppers

  • Cantaloupe
  • Tomatoes
  • Beans
  • Sweet corn
  • Peaches

Schramm’s Farms Fall Festival

Schramm’s Farms is not only the place to find the best local products. It’s also a destination for fun events! They regularly organize corn cookouts, car shows, summer classes for children, tours, and– our favorite — a fall festival. It runs from the end of September until the end of October. The festival offers a wonderful pumpkin patch experience paired with many festive displays of scarecrows, corn stalk mazes, pony rides, hayrides, and more. You can also find a selection of refreshments and snacks on site, including fresh-cut French fries, apple cider slush, and homemade caramel apples!

If fall is your favorite season and you want to discover more fabulous fall festivals in the Laurel Highlands, we have you covered! The Mountain Craft Days is one of our favorites; it takes you on a magical journey back in time. Browse through historically inspired crafts at the heart of Somerset, PA, taste delicious dishes created by local chefs, and enjoy live entertainment. Another fall festival we particularly like is the Delmont Apple Festival. It’s a highly anticipated event that gathers more than 25,000 visitors each year! Once you taste their mouthwatering apple cider and roam through the antiques display, you’ll understand why.
