You’ll Love Your Day at the Vinoski Winery

History of the Winery

Vinoski Winery is all about family history. Let’s start with the name: it means “Son of Winemaker”! You can trace back the history of this Polish winemaking family back to 1200 AD when they used to make wine for royalty. Remember that back then, the Polish borders stretched from the Baltic Sea all the way down to the Black Sea and Warsaw. It wasn’t until the 1800s that the family, led by the grandfather of today’s owner, moved to Connellsville, PA.

Walt Vinoski now runs the winery. He learned from a very young age how to pick the grapes with his grandfather. He has inherited the ancient technique that once delighted European royal families, and today, you get to taste it, too!

What You Will See

On top of tasting amazing wine, you will get to spend the day in a beautiful environment. Westmorland Castle is the property Walt and his wife Roxanne purchased in 2017 to continue the legendary tradition of Vinoski wines. You’ll be blown away as you drive along the quarter-mile driveway and discover this splendid, 34-room estate. Enter through the impressive portico door, make your way through the 32-foot high entry gallery (take a look at the copula above your head!) and check in for your tasting and tour!

The only way to taste Vinoski wine is to go on a tour. Tastings last around 30 minutes from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays). Choose between the Choice Tasting, which costs $10 per person and includes five 1-ounce tastings. You’ll get to discover a selection of French Columbard, Riesling, Sparkling Brut, Sparkling Rose, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Merlot, and Zinfandel. For $20, you can get the Premium Tasting to try more world-class wines. They all have been aged three years or more in handmade oak barrels. This selection includes Vermentino, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, but also Symphonia and Reserve which are two house red blends.
