Explore Kentuck Knob
Did you know that the Laurel Highlands is home to more than just one of Frank Lloyd Wright‘s architectural wonders? Just on the other side of Ohiopyle, across from Fallingwater, sits a darling home known as Kentuck Knob.
The Home
Kentuck Knob, also known as the Hagan House, was one of Wright’s last personal designs in architecture. Overlooking the valley of the Youghiogheny River Gorge, the usonian style home boasts a hexagonal theme with many treasures waiting to be admired throughout the interior and exterior elements. The family sold the property to Lord Peter Palumbo of London, England in the 1980’s. Palumbo has since opened the home to tours, welcoming visitors to learn and admire the architecture and property since 1996.
Visiting
When visiting Kentuck Knob, you are welcomed by a charming visitors center nestled amongst the Laurel Highland woodlands. Following the house tour, visitors are welcomed to explore the sculpture garden and overlook. The Palumbo family has brought in and installed a collection of sculptures throughout the property between the home and visitors center. A gift shop and café invite you to shop and treat yourself to some of the Hagan family’s very own Hagan Ice Cream.
