Caffeinate & Create
We are heading south, through the farmlands of Somerset County towards a multiuse space known as Tissue Farm. Best known to the bicyclists riding the Great Allegheny Passage, this espresso shop & gallery space sits in the old coal mining town of Confluence. Open seasonally, be sure to plan your visit between April & late November. This stop was once the local Chevy Garage, but is now a hometown hub for locals, bicyclists & anyone passing through looking for a hidden gem of a coffee spot. As you enter through the checkered tile storefront, you are greeted with warm welcomes & robust aromas. Serving up Commonplace Coffee, the lattes are truly divine! Grab a warm pastry & head on through to the gallery. Before entering the official gallery space, take in some history on the establishment by the cab of a classic Chevy. The gallery pulls you into a wide, open space with art & collections on all sides. Home to their own artist residency program, the space boasts eclectic character from the creative collective.

Visiting during the cooler seasons? Grab a seat by the wood stove fireplace & enjoy your morning latte while taking in the views from the enormous windows. Explore the space for a game of chess, perhaps a quick read from their stock of books or appreciate the craftmanship of the space & art within. Before heading out, scope out the storefront giftshop filled with local goods & gifts. Get outdoors & head down to Tissue Farm for the coolest espresso bar around.
